i just ran codes and replaced my ect but it still says code 51 coolent temperature voltage out of range any help?

51 - Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit Open (M,O)
Make sure you are using the correct connector for the ECT, if this is a fox Mustang, there is a similar looking connector that deals with the canister purge solenoid and is sometimes connected to the ECT by mistake. If the code repeats, you need to check the connector for the possibility of a broken wire within the connector..... disconnect the ECT, turn IGN ON and measure voltage between the ECT connector pins....it should have between 4-6 vdc......otherwise, one of the wires has an open.

Is it a code 21 (Engine Coolant Temperature, ECT Sensor Out Of Self Test Range. 0.3 to 3.7 volts).... or 51 (Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit Open) ?

its 51, do i check for cracks in the wire or what to fix 51?

oh ya im getting 6.44 volts on the ect

Disconnect ECT, place a jumper wire between the wiring harness connector pins, and run a KOEO self-test......check if code 61 shows up.
