You wont be able to run 11:1 compression unless you have aluminum heads. If you are still using cast iron peices you will experiance detonation. And have to run a higher octane than 93, to prevent it. stick with 10:1 you can still add a centrifical blower with mild boost. Be careful your block can only with stand 600hp around there. I hope you are installing a mail girde on the mains while your at it.

why cant you run 11:1? and who ever uses cast iron aftermarket heads these days, news flash i guess.

nosman runs 12:1 on his 408 and i think its pump gassed (not sure)

you can run 11:1 safely if you have the correct timing adjustment, and by the way the stock block can only handle 500 HP not 600.

Stick with 9.5 compression pistons. If you plan on running a centrifical you could even go as high as 10:1 if you plan on running turbo or root or twin srew supercharger lower it. But anyways. You should be looking to get 347hp to the wheels if you consider 17% drivetrain loss if your making 430hp at the crank. But if this guy is putting this motor in a CRX those things weigh 200lbs. with driver which is about 7.1lbs. per horse power, if hes making 280hp. Your horse power to weight ratio is....10.6lbs. to every hp. Consider your car is 3700lbs. with driver. So if thats the case hes going to beat you. Why do you think CRX's can reach 9's. Just find out what car hes running and how much it weights and do the math before you commit to anything.
are u kidding me bro? a CRX run 9's NEVER seen or heard of that in my life. The race should be close. If your in a LX or hatch itll be close, notchback ull burn him. vert ull prolly tie. U drive right you should beat him, g/l cant wait for the vid

Yo Bro.... Open your eyes. http://www.l-natural.com/crx.htm

Naturally asperated in the 10's...just think of what a boosted crx runs. They are light so they dont need as much power as we do to make the same numbers. Do the math. I have a respect for anyone into cars. Imports and domestics. As long as they are gearheads, and dont talk out of there ***. There ok with me. Everyone has a different view and opinion.

i dont like hondas, but iv had them surpise me, however iv never seen one run anything faster than low 13's you should be in the 12's with your mod list. the fwd will realy hurt your freind, i think you beat him
A 91 civic with a claimed 1.8L making 275 to the wheels will probably be in the low thirteens, but it also depends on the suspension setup, tires and if any extra weight reduction was done.

I think that you'll get him with a 347 stroker honestly. He sounds like a punk *** kid, and most punk *** kids can't drive to save their life.

ya but the prob is this guy is building b-18,which is 1.8 l..same engine outta i believe 98-99 crv's.twin overhead cam with v-tec
CRVs used the B20, a 2.0 dohc non vtec motor.

He's using a B18c more than likely. Came out of the 94-01 Integra GSR/97,98,00,01 ITR.

Edit:
