RE: runs rough when cold after h/c/i
Oh ya i forgot you asked. I have no idea what the metal is off of, the only thing i can think is that something was blown down the intake while we had it off. It looked like it was longer to begin with but from hitting the head it just kind of bended together. it was prob an inch long and 1/8 to 1/16 tall. It was on the bottom of the no.8 piston. the piston had slight knicks in it but nothing major, the cylinder wall was fine. The head was also fine. When it was put back together, before we knew the metal was there, we couldnt get it to start, it just kept cranking. i figured i had the timing off and the distributor a tooth off. I tried again the next morning after restabbing the distributor and it cranked a few times before stopping. I figured my battery was just low. I checked the volts and they were still 12. I decided to crank the motor over by hand and it wouldnt budge. It turned backwards fine and would move forward until the piston was at the top. We pulled the motor apart that night and seen what was sitting there. Everything was fine though and it was put back together and running the next day.

You sure were lucky that nothing else happened. I'm glad you got it back going again without any damage. Once your done with those new AFR's, get a good tune done and your car should run real nice. I had mine tuned on a dyno. The only adjustments made were that of fuel pressure. I was a little lean when I came in. I was amazed that I had it as close as I did on my own accord. Alot of time on this site was spent gathering alot of good info here. Alot of those guys like addermk2 and others know their smack. I'm currently putting down 290hp & 310trq to the wheels.

ya i figures when i pulled the head off it was just gonna be junk. For some reason i had a feeling it was on the driver side and possibly the number 8 so we pulled that head first. lucky guess. I'm not sure if ill be keeping this motor or depending on if i get a new job or not, i would like to buy a 347. I really wish i would of went carb now though. with all the money i spent to run 11s on spray i could of went carbed and ran damn close to it on motor. o well, a little late now though, lol.
