Default Transmission Replacement

I found a 94 mustang gt with a few aftermarket bolt-ons and only 112k. The engine runs fine but he says the transmission is no good. Basically everything is good except the transmission. He is only asking $500 so i really want to jump on this. Now my question is, how hard is it to drop the old transmission and put in a new one? In addition, should i just replace with a junkyard t-5 or an aftermarket tremec or something?

Default RE: Transmission Replacement

For now I would just get a junkyard t-5 and drive it to see if that is really the only thing wrong with the car. Nothing is worse then buying an expensive part to find out that another part is bad.
