Default Hidden Vacum Leak.Bad idle New Discovery

If you pull your upper plenum, on the driver side front, there is a plug there, you might see an oily film around it underneath.

Simply get a hex key socket, remove this plug, apply thread sealant, reinstall and the intake leak is gone.
Found this on our 1993 Cobra with unstable Idle.

Neat idea - is it a factory tool or something you made up yourself?

no I didn't make it myself[:-]...companies sell them and ours was purchased through Snap-on tools... they are made expecially for looking for leaks like vaccum and or evap leaks but I tell you what...in less then 2 minutes I know if there is a vaccum leak and where

I'm going to have to find me one of them. It seems like the better part of my life is wasted tracking down vacuum leaks, and they make such a huge difference in getting all my older cars running right.

Gotcha - I may have to come up with something on my own then, or go back to the old carb spray method.
