T5 tranny sensors question
I got the sensors that go into the tranny for the backup lights or whathaveyou. But I think I need this small pin that goes in the top tranny cover sensor. Anyone know?
I just put the sensors in for now and will procede to put the tranny back in the car. But it will be hard to access that cover or anypart of the tranny once its all back in the car.
Thanks for any help , trying to get the tranny sensors all back in and car working properly ie lights etc.

sorry sure.
In this pic, there is a pin pointed at that goes in the top cover of the tranny, in front of the sensor. This is the pin in question.

*I just had this tranny rebuilt. I dont know if this pin is already in the tranny, or if its not, if I would need to put it in before the sensor.....
Thanks a gain!!!!!!!!

RE: T5 tranny sensors question
the sensor for the reverse lights is on the side of the casing, not the top... i didnt look at your pic, but if its the one that goes into the top of the trans, you dont need it... i swapped trannys and the one i put in didnt have a spot for that, so i just took out the connector... its sitting in my bedroom... and the only effect it had was that right when you 1st start it up... the engine would rev to 2k and drop to idle

RE: T5 tranny sensors question
It's a neutral sensing switch. If you are going to pull codes from the computer you have to tie the wires together or find a pin. I think I have some laying around if you have lost yours.

RE: T5 tranny sensors question
Exactly , its a neutral safety switch and 90% of the time they are not even connected . The older foxes and the SN95 don't even have a spot of the switch on the top .

100% agreed dimebag knows his tranny stuff, kinda (hes still learning) but if he doesn't know he won't answer or he'll ask me... the pin isn't need as said above, and the car will slightly rev on cold starts and drop back to idle as dimebag said... and other t-5 ?'s PM me
