Default RE: Speedomoeter jumping around?

I had that problem with my Isuzu Trooper. For a good year or so, I couldn't figure out what the problem was. It ended up being a wire hanging loose and every time it rubbed up against the block it would short and make my speedo fly up and down.

Wish I could tell you more about what wire it was or where exactly it was, but my mechanic found it, not me.

pull the speedo sensor out of the tranny and inspect the gear itself

and before any fow owners jump in with "chech your speedo cable.. its probably sticky..."

SN-95's run an electronic speed sensor... so dont even try to recommend the cable!
