just curious, does this mean , roller cam or roller rockers?

and so what about non HO ford motors? like say a lincoln in 85?

Other '85 FoMoCo models had the "roller ready" block installed, but were fitted with flat tappet cams..... Mustangs were the only ones with the roller cam.

yup, ive seen trucks newer than 85 come in with flat tappets. i dunno when exactly they switched into roller for everything else, although i DO know an 86 marquis with crappy E6SE heads had a roller bump stick in it

1985. All High Output 5.0L engines used roller cams and lifters. Rocker arms were non-adjustable stamped steel.

Look in your lifter valley for "XXX" then you know you've got a roller motor. Or maye just pull a lifter out the next time you have the intake off.
