my 5.0 won't idle right..
I thought it might be an ignition problem so I changed to BW cap, BWrotor, and Motorcraft copper plugs. It ran a little better so I replaced O2 sensors thinking that might be a part of the problem because it was running rich too. Nope... still dies. Here's your only clues to work with.
1) Car dies during the first 10 minutes of startup, no matter whether it is warmed up or not.
2) Car will die on it own, but it gets worse when I press on the brake or turn the steering wheel rapidly.
If I notice anything else while this is happening I'll update this post.

I have the same problem also runs like **** on bottom end, I advanced timing to "ear" as a temp fix, seems car does good when opened up but bad at low rpm, had to idle at close to grand to keep it from stalling.

What mass air meter do u have? If it's a c&l I would suggest throwing it away. They are not accurate at all without dyno tuning,"the mass not the eec" Everyone I know with a C&L have massive idle problems. The calibration tubes just get it within a range and then require fine tuning for proper operation. If you get one that bolts up and works your very lucky. Other causes; running rich @ idle could cause surging. What is you fuel pressure @? If any of this is no an issueand you have no vacuum leaks thencheck your tps voltage, you may have to clock it. I don't remember what voltage range it needs to be ,"I think around .75'" But there are some good gurus around here that can tell u all that.

Might check your grounds, with the brakes causing problems. Sounds more like a vaccumm leak likeTexas5.0 said, but I was having problems idling too high. When I pushed the clutch all the way in the idle would go down where it is supposed to be. This clued the tech, and he cleaned all the grounds. Found out with the clue I gave him on the clutch I had a bad ground, in the computer or in the wiring to the computer, he simply "made a ground", spliced into the wire and grounded the wire. Fixed it. So I guess my next step is to find out exactly were the bad ground is, EEC or wiring harness. I may be totally off on helping your problem, but dirty or bad grounds can be simple problems that are overlooked.
