Default Cam Install Question

When im installing the new cam, is there a certain way it needs to go in. I have everything set at tdc crank and all. How do i know the cam is in the right position? Im thinking does the slot that the cam gear goes on need to be atexactly 6 o clockwhile the slot on the crank is at exactly 12 o clock just like the dots on the gears?

If you have the crank on tdc, the the mark on the gears has to line up. cam mark down-crank mark up. make sure the dowel pin in the cam is seated in the cam gear.

there should be a pin or a dowl that fits into the cam. from there you will bolt on the timing chain and that will then make the cam align up the with the crank. there are going to be 2 marks on the cam sprocket and carnk sprocket. just align them up like the book says and your cam will be aligned too.

i never remeber having any trouble with that part so i dont remember it to well.
