Default RE: gas leak question

on the top portion where that seal is check to make sure that the base under the seal at the top is not rusted.....they are prone to rust there..I had to take my tank out and solder the pitted area above due to rust and it leaking...... my 92 has started to do the same /rust and I'm sure it's only a matter of time before it leaks..... The quickest way to do it and it takes me only about 15 min on a lift is take the tank down after driving it down to where there is little or no gas in it and remove t straps and the 5/16 bolt that holds the filler tube to the tank..... lower it and you don't have to even undo all connections just enough to get the grommet out...if you don't like that idea undo the filler tube at the tank and fuel door
