if the heads are set up for why not use it? if you have the ptv i say why not. the duration is pretty aggressive. is it a DD car? the crane cam is definitely the better choice probably over the e cam for performance

An E cam is pretty close to that rpm range thoughits lift is lower. You should be fine with that cam as long as the heads can support it. If your heads flow a max CFM of 250 at .450 lift then it wouldn't make much scence to use a cam with550 lift. I would say you won't see much of an increase in power over the e cam. Not with your set-up anyways. I don't care what people say about the E cam, It is a great cam that has been around for a while and proven time and time again that it is a great streetable cam that is affordable, sounds NICE and makes good power. If you want maximum power out of a cam swap, I would get a custom ground cam taylored to your applications.

I would go with the dual pattern crane cam that has more lift on the exhaust side which is where a sbf needs it

http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=CRN%2D449651&autoview=sku. that is the cam i have have. those are the advertised numbers i gave. i just really want to get an opinion on using a big cam with ported gt40 heads. and its not an energizer cam its a power max. this is my DD idel doesnt matter to me bc im hoping to have another DD before its finished. either way doesnt amtter used to own a DSM with rediculously loud exhaust and an idel probelm, having a wicked cam lope with not bother me. lol

This camshaft is a mismatch with your combination.

Problem

1.Its going over a .550 lift with a N/A setup on some ol iron heads, ported or not, all show no go.

2. You have a 1995 with an ECM thats bitchy with cams like that.

3. Your pistons will have to be notched more.

Id stick with the 1.6 rollers and Cam you have.
