c-clip eliminator question?????????
hey guys, i put some clip eliminators in my rear end, well actually helped a drivetrain mechanic with it, he tought me how i guess, but any ways i have 275's on the rear and just put them on once the c clip elim. were put in, my question is that i see ppl with 275's on all the time and their tires fit inside the wheel wells nice and snug, mine actually stick outside it by about a inch or so, so when i launch, my tires rub the fenders, do u guys think the clip eliminators could have moved the axle out actually causing this or is it my offset on the rim, i can't see how the rim is at fault cuz it is the basic 15X8 mustang draglite, what do u guys think?

RE: c-clip eliminator question?????????
Yes, the C-clip eliminators will move the whole axle out a little bit because they bolt onto the end of the axle housing. The standard offset would work fine without the eliminators, but with them the offset needs to be set back to compensate for them.

What back space are you running on your rim? and what year car. As far as the eliminators making the axle stick out more I dont think so.I have done a few sets and so have My friends and we have not run in to this yet. Whoeliminators did you use?

RE: c-clip eliminator question?????????
aaa.... it's a 92 lx, they are strange c-clip eliminators, and as far as the backspace, to be honest with you i'm not sure anymore, my car is back home, i'm out of state now, it should be what ever the stock backspacing is, i don't remember anymore from when i ordered them and measured., to fix the problem i definatly still want to run 275's so i guess i should just make the backspacing a inch more huh?

RE: c-clip eliminator question?????????
we run 5.5 on the backspace with our 8in welds and I have seen the 10in rim guys run as much as 6 and stock is like4 7/8. ours is a 89 so you need to find out your back space. after walking out and looking at the wifes car that I am putting C- clip eliminators on now. there is NOWAY that they are gone to change the backspace if they moved the axle out the the brake drum would not work on the shoes. we are running the Mosers. and the eliminator mounts between the back flang of the axle and the backing plate of the rear and bolts to the end of the housing placing the backing plate between the too the rear and eliminator

hmh,,,, i didn't think that it would move it out, but they do stick out condsiderably more than any other 275 ive seen, just bothers me cuz it rubs my fenders

RE: c-clip eliminator question?????????
u mean roll them in like the lip? if that's whay u mean, kinda, i took a baseball bat and rolled the car a lil bit, but didn't do it too much cuz i didn't want the paint to crack there, so i haven't really decided what i'm gona do with that yet.
