to run 12s with just a H/C/I car? If so what would your combo be? Also what suspension mods would be needed?

Very possible. Most well put together h/c/i setups will have 12s potential. Control arms, gears and drag radials are a good start.

A good h/c/i will take into account gearing, vehicle weight, trans type, how the car is dirven most of the time etc. I'm running low 13's with a h/c/i 302 with a 570cfm carb and some internals plus bolt ons, and that's with worn out suspension(40 year old low performance leaf springs), crap 60's and no gear on street tires at about 38-40psi. With new suspension and a gear the car will run high 12's on street tires. When you do an h/c/i just be careful not to pick too big a head, too big an intake or too big a cam, it's easy to get carried away and start going bigger to try to get more power, and in a street car that often leads to not being any faster, but having a car that drives crappier and gets worse mileage and throttle response

depends if you want high 12's or low 12's I run low 12's on an all motor set up and it has a decent h/c/i set up with of course full suspension mods like control arms drag shocks, subframes and tubular front suspension and gears and full exhaust...to list the specifics of my mods...the list is too long but a good tune on a fulie car with h/c/i and proper selected combo should get you there....

My car has h/c/i and ran a 13.7.
Its probably got potential to be lower into the 13's but Im doubting it will run 12's.

Whenever building for et, start with a foundation.

Suspension, Gears, Upper and Lower Control Arms and alignment. That alone can drop .8 seconds off your et and make it safer handling.
When you get into the motor, that only sweeten's the pot.

yeah i already have the gears taken care of with 3.73s. i want just a 13 sec street car but capable of 12s with a tire. what combo makes the most power? i have heard trick flow and holley but then i know of people that swear by pieced together kits.
