Don't cut them if they arent broke....why waste money just to be lazy?
You have to remove your brake shoes and dissconnect your cable there, then you will have to dink around with a pair of pliers and a screwdriver to get them to slid out of the rearend....it is a pain, but you will have to do it even if you cut you old ones. They go in really easy BTW

Lazy?............ Try smart, your going to the extent of rebuilding the entire rear and you are going to skimp on a 14 dollar part with saftey in mind. Do what you want but i would replace them, I just completed my rear end build and I replaced mine. I was not hard
