1985 Mustang as a Project
Well I may be able to get my hands on a 1985 mustang GT hatchback that is a roller (no trans I believe) and the body/frame are near mint for about $600.
Is this a foxy body as well? What differs between it and the 87-93? I know it has a carbureted engine, but my plans are to completely strip out the car, repaint it, and put in a fuel injected 5.0 and manual transmision. I have an engine outof an 89 I am in the middle of rebuilding. It's a car I want to buy as MY OWN project.
Any input let me know. Should I persue going to see the car and possibly buying it and lugging it home or should I pass for a different year/model?

I've seen a picture of the car I may buy, I like it. I'm just wondering if it would be a worthy base for a build. As in, is there a ton of custom fab required to put in a fuel injected 5.0 and manual tranny or is it just running wiring (no biggy for me).
If it is, I may go take a look at the car.

Yes it is a foxbody. The only real differnece is that it is carburated, and the interior is different than 87-93's but if it is as nice as you say then I am sure the interios will be nice as well. All it would take is a wiring harness, and ecm. It would not be hard to make it fuel injected. If you are up to running a few wires, then def go take a look at it. good luck.

here is the link to the ebay auction. I'd be buying from this buyer.

it says EFI on the air cover. Maybe it's a TBI?
It has an automatic now. How tough is it to change to a manual transmission? Mind you this is a project car, so as long as it can be done relatively easily but with time, it won't be a problem for me.

okay so if the car is in good shape it'd be a good base to my project. I'm going to swap engines on it anyway. Just wondering if with the car itself there are any flaws. That should have a n 8.8" rear right? if not one can be put in there, right?
