radio problem
ok so like a week ago my speakers started getting static and were crackaling. but i had to take my console out the other day to get to the shifter. whoever installed the carpet didnt cut it right. so that all went fine, but the fuel door release wires touched and sparked. it somehow popped the fuel door open (its not even hooked up). and now my door chime doesnt work nor does the radio. the fuse in the dash and in the headunit are good. can anyone tell me if those circuits are tied together? also any clues on what i should test?

RE: radio problem
hey man I do car radios and Im not sure of the problem but I know one thing you can do there are multiple things that could be wrong (bad ground, wires touching in multiple places, fuse under the hood?, and some other things) Im not a pro so if im wrong Im sorry... I work for circuit city
You can go to the nearest CC and ask them to check it out it'll cost tops 40$ for them to fix it...
I know some modulators go bad and that causes the door chime and other things to stop working the factory runs alot of things threw the radio for some reason...
I'll ask my boss l8r what it could be, also he might be able to narrow it down to 1 maybe 2 things good luck I'll post another after I talk to my boss

RE: radio problem
Check your fuses, trace wires if you can, otherwise get it to an automotive shop that does electrical. No offense to tiller828, but around here, taking your car to circuit city would be like expecting Maaco to do a show quality paint job.
