Pre detonation

ive noticed when i gun it it starts to ping around 3.5k-4k, wot
but in normal driving it doesnt.
its been set to either 12 or 13 cant remember.
its either
fuel or spark but i dont know wich, i cant really take anything apart right now so i need some experienced advice.
anyone have any ideas.

if im not mistaken a small exhaust leak can sound like that. when i replaced my passenger side header gasket that went away unless you are SURE its pinging

just put ur hands over the tips and look for water drops

i would check the basics first..

timing
fuel pressure + filter
plugs, wires, cap, rotor

maybe try switching octanes
