I have some awful rust on both my rear quarter panels but i noticed that they are connected all the way up to the hood, does this mean i have to cut them if i want them replaced?

that means you junk it. what about the floors?

i pulled out the whole interior and welded up all the bad parts of the floor pans, the rust on the quarters isn't ridiculous and i'm keeping my car so i guess ill just try and patch in some new sheet metal/bondo

Yes. Thats how you replace quarter panels. If its just rust on the bottom of the panels then cut it out and patch it with some sheet metal.. Theres no need to replace the whole quarter panel if the rest is good.

doing a whole quarter is no joke, just repair the rust by cuttingit out and welding new metal. You can even cut that section out of a junkyard
