Default ram air vs. cold air

i have the hood of a 98 cobra, there a picture in the link. do they make a dule ram air kit that would use the two scoops in the hood? i know the scoops are not functunal but couldnt i cut out the caps. anyways if they do make a kit would it be more benificial to me that a regula fenderwell cai?

Ram air will force outside air in that is completely independent of any egine bay area heat and or heat resonating from there and the road... you might have to custom fab a set up but why for such little scoops???

yea the scoops are realy small. i was just curiouse if something like that would work

I don't think it would be worth the time and would probably look ugly under the hood.

ram air is useless until your doing 100+ mph.

just get a fender mount CAI

You're not gonna get any noticable power gains from ram air effects until you start getting around 100mph. Ram air scoops are better for carb'd cars simply because the air cleaner is on top and it's the easiest way to hook up a cold air setup. Both a fenderwell or a scoop are going to be cold air, and whichever one is easier and cleaner is the better choice. The power gains from the ramming effect are minimal and only realized at high speed, what you need is colder air than the engine compartment, whereever you can get it from the easiest
