Cam Question
Im in the market to buy a cam within the next 2 days and i want to stay away from the b303 i dont really know much about cams for 5.0s soo i need some help now my current mods are edelbrock performer intake, holley 750, holley red pump, bbk headers, flowmaster exhaust, msd 6al , 3.73's, and a few other bells and whistles now i want a cam that i dont have to upgrade any of the top end atleast for now any suggestions would help thanks

ive heard that trickflow stg 1 is a nice cam what are the requirements to run this cam i mean if springs and retainers are the only upgrade i need then that would be fine but is there any other things i need to worry about like compression

no compression issues to worry about if that's the off the shelf cam you want just purchase springs , retainers and apropriate locks and then after it's set up you'll need to set the valvetrain up with an adjustable pushrod length checker to get the proper geometry......so you can order the right length push rods.....push rods are the last thing you order and are ordered seperate from the rest of what you order

go to summit racing pick out a cam you like for example the tfs stage one and to the right will be a list of required parts needed.......have a machine shop set the heads up with the new springsand do a search on summit for ajustable length pushrod checkers you'll need one capable of measuring between 6.000 to 7.000 if you don't have a clue what to pick out or how to attempt this whole process ...best off leaving the job to someone who does or can direct you personally

if you have a manual tranny you aughta jump the F-cam, Ive heard itll pull hard all the way to 6k rpm, and itl probably beenough for that 750.Ive got an auto and my E-cam works great, even though Ive got a TFS-1 cam sitting under my bed, Im gonna get a set of track heat heads and intake to go w/ it for my winter project.
