i got a 95gt, odometer said 117,000, drove it home, said the same thing. the gear in the guage cluster was stripped, changed it, works great. make sure the trip and odometer work.
mine was stock except for k&n filter and it had a knock. got it for 1,300, not the best shape, but well worth 1,300.
