GT40P

So this guy near me has a set of GT40P heads and wants $100 for them with no rockers. They appear in good shape but 1) Arent those the heads off the explorers? 2) Is it worth the price 3) Would it be worth the effort if I installed those with rollerrockers (power gain wise) 4) Would they give me the flow I need with a new cam? Probably a pretty common question but I couldnt find it other places. Thanks guys

EDIT: Its a 95 5.0 with full boltons and 20k on rebuild (oem specs)

RE: GT40P

yes those cores are worth 100 bucks, no matter what you end up doing with them.

RE: GT40P

you need different headers, i think you can modify yours. The spark plug angle is different

RE: GT40P

If you don't plan on getting aluminum heads later on and you just wanna slap these on for somecheap power then grabbem up. 100$ is a great deal for them, however you will have to run gt-40p specific headers, or just longtubes. Even if you dont plan on running them you could buy them and sell them for profit.

RE: GT40P

You dont have to run GT40P specific headers. BBK and Mac shorties work if you run 90* spark plug boots.

Flowtech longtubes need a few primaries dimpled.
