it could be that the bearings are wrong size, rod not square on wrist pin, who knows. problem right now is that i cant get the rod caps off. they went on fine. torqued fine. now i cant get them off seems like they are **** eyed on the rod bolts now. when i put rod caps only on hte rest of the journals it didnt seeem to bind???

so your asking how to get the caps off? take a SMALL dead blow hammer and tap them up... its not uncommon to have to do this to get them off... tap up on one side, and pull up on the other... so that it lifts off evenly...

and did you try to turn it over after each piston went in? did you check your ring gap/size? theres alot of things that you coulda/shoulda checked 1st... what all did you check and look at?

Check this out.....#5 rod was bent??? dont knows how but either the wrist pin or rod its self was bent. it was binding against the side of the crank. this also bound the rod caps against each other. wow had to beat them out. yeah ruined the rod journal and both sets of bearings. Someone on here sold a really cheap 347 stroker kit...anyone know who that was. im not gonna mess with .020 under journals and try to make HP so lesson learned...... check for straightness proir to installation.

I know on small motors such as lawn mower and such which have rebuilt that if the cap for the other end of the rod is too tight it wont let the crank spin so check that out. but if its bent then that would do it also.

You do know that the rods go in facing a certain way, right?

Yep. got the numbers line up and all that. when i set the #5 piston on a flat surface it was definitely not square. im sure that was the issue just dont know how it was possible.
