5 lug swap

5 lug swap
I have recently bought a 91 5.0 with a 5 lug swap. It has drum brakes. Any idea how to find out off of what year model this came out of? I'm a little concerned because the rear wheels sit extremly close to the stabalizer shocks. within 1/4 in. Is this normal?

You most likely have Ford Ranger axles and drums in the stock Mustang housing.
You will need to flip your quad shocks. Flipping them upside down doesnt affect their operation or anything and it gives your wheels the clearance they need.
The reason for the wheels being close is that fox and Sn95 wheels have different offsets. The Sn95 axles are slightly wider.
I ran into the same issue with my car using Ranger axles and drums and '03 Mustang wheels.

Im thinking thats normal although I dont know the exact measurements.
In order to put an SN95 rearend in youd have to use disc brakes because the axles are longer.
Also if you used Sn95 wheels on an SN95 rearend they wouldnt be so close to the shocks.
Im not even sure if the sn95's had quad shocks.

I don't know, what do you think about spacers? maybe I need different wheels. there is 96-97 cobra wheels on it right now.

Flip the quad shocks upside down and see how the wheels fit then.
You might need wheels with a different offset but Im thinking you probably dont.
