D.S.S Stroker Kits?

Hey guys i have a 1986 mustang GT 5-Speed...i recently pulled a motor and i have been looking for a 331 stroker kit. I found one from DSS but i heard that DSS enginges are garbage. Would it be ok to buy the stroker kit from them? is there anywhere else that you would recommend?

Thanks,
nick

I would also say no on dss. they have no clue whats going on. I was told by the "owner" that piston slap is impossible in their shortblocks because everything is cnc machined. well guess what I have scores in all cylinders where the piston has been rocking around in and only after 500 miles, called them up and said that they will be glad to look at it at my expense while it was still under their warranty! someone has a link to a page on here with all complaints about dss.

its actually only a $50 increase.

He has been getting flooded with phone calls and orders... so since his product is in high demand... why not get more money for them?

BTW.... there is a picture of my 347 liberator Fordstrokers.com shortblock in my gallery

when did u get ur block? whats the plan for it? i keep adding stuff and also switched to a dart block, so i guess i have to wait a lil longer. im sure itll be worth it in the end.

I have a DSS rotating assembly. I had them balance it but I put it in my own block that I had a local guy machine for me. I have worn it out and freshened it once with no out of the ordinary wear on any of the parts. Maybe I just got lucky with my stuff but I would buy from them again. As far as buying a short block I don't trust anyone but myself. If I assemble it and it comes unglued then I am the only one to be angry with.

My buddy has a DSS 331 stroker with one of their pro bullet blocks and it runs like a champ. 11.8 at 119 on stock tranny and stock rear for now. Maybe he just got lucky with DSS, but its a beast ;).
