I am going to fire up my rebuilt 5.0 this weekend, what is the recommended procedure for breaking in a new engine?

Regards!

Actually im going through the same thing now and i plan on taking a trip from LA to San Francisco and back. Thats about 650-700 miles from where i am. Find a nice route and take a little trip with her to break her in.

As long as the rpm is varied a lot during a trip, the rings should seal up good. Do not use cruise control or stay at one engine speed for very long.
