replacing heads difficult?

RE: replacing heads difficult?
Not if you are well educated on the subject. At least get a manual to follow so you don't make some really easily avoidable mistakes like dropping lifters into the oil pan, if you are not pulling the engine that is.
Someone who has done it a million times can have a head swap complete in the matter of 1 day if he had all of the materials.

If you've never attempted a major swap then I'd have someone present to help that has and know how to correctly remove / reinstall and time distributor up.....you'll need to know how to set up valvetrain geometry cause you can't reuse stock rockers unless you grind a clearence spot on them and know how to properly torque intake and heads in the proper sequence and to not forget about coating the shorter head bolts that enter into the water jackets with teflon thread sealer

Itsnot too hard, just take your time. Put all bolts in zip lock bags and mark them. take pics and allow extra time for the project.

I also used colored zip ties on parts so i could match them back up easily.

I know your block is probably 99% a roller block with a roller cam in it but in the odd case where it may be a flat tappet/hydrolic cam the lifters must go back in the same lifter bore it came out of or you will wind up wiping out a cam . use a egg carton and mark it front to back so its easy when you go to put them back in.
