Default slugish of the line... help please...

I was wondering if anyone had ran across this problem before. I have a stock cam and a set of GT40P, heads, with a 98 explorer upper and lower intake, 75MM egr, TB, mac c/a, and a C&L m/a, set up for 24ib injectors, and 24ib ford raceing injectors. When it comes of the line it is slugish on bottom end (this is at full throttle) and it suddenly surges. I have tuned and tuned some more and cant gett it out.Could this be due to the bigger TB, and MA, or should i be looking at something else. Any ideas..... Thanks for your advice and time.......

replace your gas tank. the baffle has broken loose causing fuel slosh.
to further verify, take a hard right hand turn. i bet the same symtoms happen.

I thought it may be a fuel pic up problem, so i filled the tank full, and it still done it. Could it be a full pump problem or may be a full filter or could it still be a tank problem?? Thanks for the advice...

ehh... usually wont do it with a full tank unless the baffle is still lodged under the pump.

still a good chance tho... drop the tank and look inside. the baffle should be surrounding where the pump falls in.

your local autozone should be able to order a new tank for about $112.

50resto.com is $135 + shipping

Thanks I will try to pull the tank this weekend... My car runns farly strong as it is I believe if I can fix that problem it would make a world of deferience at the track. That little stang has surprised a few Z28's and a lot of rice burners, lol. Not so much the horse power but knowthing hook's like a Mustang. Thanks again for your help.....

You might want to check for engine codes and do a cylinder balance test. Also did you check the fuel pressure?

Big ???? on fuel pressure I have got a accel FMU with a gauge. I believe stock pressure is about 39or so. If i set my gauge at 39 it just boils black smoke and will not runn for sh**. I can only get by with it showing about 32 before it starts to load up. Could it be a bad gauge or pressure regulator. I was thinking about going back to the stock pressure reg. Any thoughts on that...... sorry i forgot to tell thatbefore in my post.....
