If every new starter comes out looking like the one in the pic, I'd say that you have a problem with the flywheel.

Well I have the tranny off now, so I guess I'll see if everything is true.

Unfortunately, I forgot to put the distributor back in while running all these tests. Think I can throw my bearings (Brand new, never ran) out the window now?
