Dipstick!!!!!
I believe I seen an article on here awhile ago about some 5oh's having a longer dipstick than they should.
My 1990 shows everytime I change the oil it is 1/2 quart overfull. (I;m using the correct filter). I know 5oh's dont take 4 and 1/2 quarts, so whats they deal?? It has a newer 5 liter motor in it, replaced by fairlawn ford in youngstown ohio in 1994 do to a broken oil pump shaft. when i check the oil with my friends 93 its on the level full mark and his is about an inch shorter than mine, (dipstick that is haa haa).

RE: Dipstick!!!!!
I have a 92 and mine does the same thing. It may be wrong but I only run 4 1/2 quarts in it. I have run in the quarter at 6200 rpmon the big end many timesand never lost oil pressure so it isn't hurting anything.
