Vacuum leak, got me stumped
Is it possible to have a vaccum leak on the underside of the lower intake? Isnt there oil under there in the lifter valley? If that is the case, then i would have smoke coming from the exhaust right? I shut my throttle body completely and it still idles at 1700 rpm but i have brakes. I sprayed every gasket surface and every vac hose. Any help is appreciated. I need to get this baby fixed up so i can get my tune. Thanks for the help guys

possible....I'd take it to a shop that has a smoke machine to test for vaccum leaks....in less than 5 min you'll have the answer to that question without a doubt

i know that i have the vac leak, i just dont know where, i mean if the throttle body is def all the way closed then the car has no way to get air, therefore, it cant run. how could it be getting air from under the lower intake? is there even any air in there? i was under the impression that in the lifter valley, that was all oil under there. I have no signs of oil being burned and thrown out my exhaust

a lower intake gasket leak at the front and back will cause a slight vacuum leak because of the PCV system but it shouldnt be enough to affect it.
a lower intake gasket leak at the heads will cause big problems.

The lower is brand new so i know that there is no crack in it. I know that i have a leak because my throttle body is completely shut, as in no possible way for air to get through there. Why do you say that a leak from the bottom of the lower intake where it meets the heads is a MAJOR problem? It idles at like 1500 with the throttle body completly closed and if i hammer the gas, it will go but when i push in the clutch she'll wanna go down to 0 rpms
