Wow... I guess I'm wrong... I looked it up and that connector does look like it grounds the computer and relays. I just figured that when this is disconnected the fuel pump don't kick on figured ths was the ground. (There is also another long story to why I thought this)
Anyway... my bad...

Fuel pump ground is at the rear frame..... fuel pump relay coil ground is a ground pulse generated by the ECM (pin 22)....... I have a couple Mustangs at the shop, but just to show you, here is the diagram specification, including the ground locations.

Yep....it's the craptastic resolution of the pic....LOL..... anyway, even if it was a 6.0L diesel (which doesn't use a MAF)...... the EEC-IV ground design is basically the same (for gasoline engines) regardless of the engine size and/or model.
If you look at the pic below (Explorer fender apron)... the 2 black wires bolted to the fender, are the EEC PWR GND wires,

There are 2 ppl I feel when it comes to knowing any part of the electrical system and it’s components on a Mustang are Joel 5.0 and JRichker.
This is what Jrichker has to say about that same ground wire; read post #4
