you bring each cylinder up to tdc...I follow the firing order this way I can adjust both intake and exhaust rocker all at once on that cylinderand then tighten the 5/16 bolt while spinning the push rod and when a slight drag is felt then from there in less then 1/2 to 1 full turn the torque on the 5/16 allen bolt should reach 22-25 flt lbs if not then you need to use a shim under the pedastal to reach proper lash adjustment

no, you need to reach the torque by the time you reach the specified turning range cause to much if you don't pay attention could compress the lifter lash adjuster into the bore to far resulting in a possible lifter that'll bottom out in the bore and bend a push rod and or cause drivability issues if the valves are to tight...I adjusted mine to tight infact way to tight many years ago and wore all the tips out on the rockers and bent two push rods

I torqued all mine down to a specific torque. I know you tighten them to zero lash and then they have to reach the specific torque between 1/4 and 1 full turn of the wrench. Here's a link: http://www.corral.net/forums/showthr...ght=crane+2030

Did you check valve train geometry and determined the correct pushrod length your setup requires?...... this is key to obtain the right preload on the lifters + it's not a " that setup uses a x.xxx length pushrod" type of deal ..... you have to measure it and set it.

Some roller rockers are just noisy too. When my car's idling with the hood open it almost sounds like a diesel sometimes [>:]

You use a pushrod length checker, here's some info, read both:
