Yeah that's what's going on with the pump. I'm not too worried about the gas guage right now. I'm just kind of worried about it getting fuel.

well then if the pump runs then the only possible issues may be a bad pump even though new...I usually put a piece of hose on the suction side if I suspect that and put it in a gallon of gas and see if it sucks gas... pending on where you mounted your pump.....which in the correct case you should mount it as close to the tank as possible..because elec pumps work better as pushers not pullers.......but if you mounted it under the hood then make sure you are not drawing air through a cracked line on the suction side as this will cause it not to draw gas......but if none is such the case ..then remove the tank and inspect the pick up assembley for a blockage but you can confirm that by attaching a piece of hose to the pick up without removing the tank and try and blow through it...if you turn red in the face you have a restriction if not...possibly the pick up tube broke off towards the top of the tank or rusted off.......

Sounds like a plan. Thanks, yeah the pump is mounted close to the tank. I've tested it that it does have suction... it ejaculated underneath my car heh. My friend who was working on the car with me at the time tried to actually suck through the gas tube and couldn't get anything so we're pretty sure there's a blockage thanks for the help though! I'll let you know what is going on either Sunday night or Monday.
