Default new combo change. advice help

hi i have a 87 mustang.
the old combo was.
block: 302
intake: trickflow street heat
pistons: stock
c/r: 10-1
cam: x303 cam -- 224 I/E .050 and 542 I/E valve lift --112 lobe
heads: out of the box elderbrock peformer
induction: Fuel injected with 42lbs,and paxton novi 1000 s/c pushing 7psi
gear: 4.10
tranmission: t-5

with 28/10.5 slicks i ran a 7.1 at 98mph at about 3100 lbs . and with 10psi, and a 3.55 gear i went a 7.6

now i switch over to a carb application and going with a new build.
with an elderbrock victor jr. intake.
and a 750 holley dp carb ( 4150)
switching back to the 4:10 gear.

but heres is what im changing... the power was around 5500 rpms.
suckky ...
my 557 big block spins 7200 rpms and still making power..
i looking for power around 6500-6700
but with the hydrualic roller setup allow that.
my 460 is equiped with a mechanical roller.
will the hydraulic do so.
also 224 duration, aint gonna cut it.
so i was thinking of running a lunati 240/250 I/E .050 duration,and 565 lift I/E on a 114 lobe.
(LUN-510A9LUN ) summit catalog
the question is will the heads still flow at this duration and rpms.

which comes to my next question. what is the average out of the box flow numbers on these heads to around .550-.600 lift.
and what is an average maxedd port flow of these heads.
will they be suffucient ported so this much durations??
of course ima need vaccum on the top end for the intake, so will the 750 holley dpbe enough,
please critizise on my build, and let me know of any advice.
thanks.
looking to run in the 6's with the novi [/align]

you'll have to look up flow numbers on the head and at what max lift they flow the best..but duration can counter that number too.......try google

i think the lobe separation of this cam will slow me down.
114 is a little to mild.

hmm looking for a radical idle, like 108 lobs seperations.
i rn a 106 with the 572 ( 460 stroked)

or maybe a 110 on the 5.0
what do yall think

i took a glance, and think my heads out of the box flows 270 intake/180 ex.
how much do u think a naxed port joob could get me to flow.
also who is a good porter. will this ported head flow enough for vaccum on a 240ish duration and 6500rpms

Suggestions:

1. Get those heads ported by Thumper

2. Either get a custom cam designed for that baby, or get an OTS Comp Cams specifically selected, and Cam Dr.'ed for your application (same link, a custom would be the best choice though) + the correct valve train components.

Just a thought.
