Default please help!!

ok heres the deal week before last i removed my smog pump.after i removed it and used a 77.5 inch belt i could start it and i had a whine at idle.when u shut it down u could hear what sounded like a hiss which i assumed was a vacuum leak.with the help of a friend i found the leak which im gonna call postive crank case pressure escaping from where the timing cover and the oil pan meet. my question is can this pressure escape cause this whine at idle?has anyone ever experienced this?please help

thanks
Joe

If ur engine is venting that positive crank case pressure, why wouldn't it do this at idle? Id say replace or fix that seal. If the sound is gone, problem fixed. If not.... 1/2 problems fixed.
