Default need help

hey guys i need help i have a 302 that had an automatic trans. on it when i got it. i am switching over to a manual but the plate between the motor and bellhousing wont line up on the started location on the standard bellhousing. could i safely remove this plate or would i have to find one for a standard trans? thanks for any help you guys can give me.

Do you know what automatic trans that came on it? I mean I did the swap from c6 to T-5 and it was all the same. That plate is pretty importaint to have since it helps keep the crap out of your bellhousing and helps keep your flywheel from having objects hitting it.

o ok. the trans is an aod. and the engine is from an 84 model. so i need to get the plate for a manual. thanks guys. i might get this car running yet.
