If you can keep the crank from walking (the achilies heel) then yes. Steel sleeves imo are stronger than the cast iron original bores.

If one goes so does the other. Yeah, the mains go first. Main thickness is not the only thing that matters either, the girdles work okay, but without a 4blt main block, you have to really have your junk wired tight. You still should not have any problems out of it, really.

No, that's about all you can really do.

the problem with sleeving all 8 cylinders is you add the possibility of what could best be described as flexing the block when your doing that. you have a whole bank of 4 cylinders on each side that has little casting material around each sleeve to actually hold everything together, sure the sleeves are stronger - but they are press fitted together in what is now a thin "flimsy" hollow shell that used to be a bank of 4 cylinders. the huge overboring and knocking in all those sleeves just basicly swiss cheeses the block and can make things a bit unstable.

how do i know? the one ford race motor we ever built for the roundy round track was a boss 302 (a REAL 69/70 boss 302), the shop owner wanted to go big, and as such all 8 holes were sleeved and then bored to 4.125 IIRC (we even used block cement in the lower half to try and keep things stout). anyways, during the test and tune session the motor was pulling the car to some of the fastest times the local track had ever seen right from the start - until the motor decided to pull the pin and that thing grenaded all over the track. after that, i would never want a 8 sleeved block [8D] (and yeah, lot more than 300 invested for 8 sleeves, so whats the deal there)
