sleeved blocks

RE: sleeved blocks
how many sleeves? if done properly there is nothing wrong with a sleeve in a block, but if all 8 are done it gets a little hairy. i'd prefer something that didnt have two sleeves next to each other, but it may all be in my head.

RE: sleeved blocks
i did. no help. i was talking to woody last night about it on Another forum. he was talking like all 8 is BAD. he said the machine work was like 800-1000 for the machine work and this guy is selling the block for 300 he said he would be iffy. i am just trying to get more info about the sleeving advantages/disadvantages.

RE: sleeved blocks
my neighbor has a BBC in his boat across the street from me. all 8 cylinders are sleeved and it runs great. they sleeved it on purpose with the plan to run a huge amount of nitrous (its some type of race boat) but my neighbor bought it from the guy who built it and runs it n/a. ive driven it, runs fine to me. needs a tune up but thats not the sleeves fault

I have seen a ton of blocks done in that fashion with no issues. How do you think aluminum blocks are done? They are sleeved. As long as the sleeves were installed right they are not going anywhere until they are machined out.
If the block isn't cracked buy it.
