Default new motor... problems...

ok... so its all in and hooked up. 2 issues, 1... it surges from 500-1000, wont idle smooth... not that stressed about it, prob. just has to learn its idle again

but the real problem... my rockers are tapping like all hell... no i did not retorque them down, they were find on the old motor, and should have been fine now.. the pushrods are not all in the same location.. i had them all set in order, and someone(mom i think) decided to pick them up and move them... so their all missmatched... yea i know its not good, but gotta do whatcha gotta do... i also did not prime the oil... just forgot, i meant to and all, but just forgot...

i had it runnin for about 3-5 min... and it was on open headers(yea yeai know, not good, but my studs are ****ed up, and the mid pipe wouldnt bolt up.... so that made it a little hard to hear everything exactly

so what should i look for as far as that rocker issue goes?

If the rods got mixed up you should at least go through and reset the rockers. Sure the lifters aren't stuck? How much play in the rods at TDC compression?

God bless,

I f the motor has set for a while let it run for a while and see if the air bleeds out of them...they may quiet down once you run it...feel lucky at least yours is running now...that's more than I can say for my pile of worth nothing parts now!!!!
