93 cobra heads need help

RE: 93 cobra heads need help
I would put a fresh valve job on them, a clean up cut across the deck and a set of new valve springs (crane makes a good kit for them with conical springs) and not much more. If you really wanted you could have the exhaust port blended. I wouldn’t put too much money into them because for the same price as a fully worked GT-40 head you could have a better set of aluminum heads.

RE: 93 cobra heads need help
I just installed some 93 cobra heads(gt40s)into my car last week and I'm totally happy with their performance. I also considered doing some work on them but after pricing all the parts it just wasn't worth it. I used my stock rockers from my E7's with no issues at all. I did change out to hardened push rods though since I'm doing more powerimprovements down the road. Good luck...I would just slap them on, as is, and you will feel a huge difference over the stock E7 heads....and then save up for some aluminum heads for down the road.
