Maybe if you google'd your stuff I'd google mine, Mr. H brace.

OK let me clearify, I don't have thispiece andit's $104 for a new one.Do I need one,or can ijust bypass it,and how crucial is it to pass smog. What does it do for my emissions?

I'm selling the car so I really don't want to buy this peace.

Air bypass valve: (ABPV or ABV) a backfire-suppressor valve used in air injection systems. During high engine vacuum conditions such as deceleration, it vents pressurized air from the air pump to the atmosphere in order to prevent backfiring. At other times, it sends air to the exhaust manifold. On vehicles with a three-way catalyst, it sends air to the oxidation catalyst only when the engine warms up. Also called an anti-backfire valve, diverter valve, or gulp valve.

And as far as passing smog, if they pop the hood and its not there, you will fail.

Removing all the smog stuff is somwhat simple if you have basic know how but like Hawk said if you need to pass emissions and this aint there you wont be leavin a happy guy.. If you really need and want to replace and keep it stock I think i still have all my smog stuff in storage let me know if youd want it and we can make it happen.

I haven't experienced it first hand, but I have heard of individuals removing this stuff and still passing the emissions test. Not sure if its true or not, but again, I have heard people say it.
