Default Motor did not start

I tried to fire up my rebuilt 5.0 and nothing, occasionally it sounded like it wanted to fire. I tested the injector plugs with a noid light and they are getting elect., also there is spark and fuel pressure. I did rotate the distributor as far as it could rotate clockwise but still nothing. If I have the distributor in and it is off by one tooth could this cause a no start condition?

Regards!
Ed

1 tooth off usually will start but run like ***, is is backfiring? If so you may be 180 out.

It does sound to me like timing as well, I would also check how you routed the wires, make sure you have the right firing order. This is a cause of no start as well Hope you figure it out, I think the majority of us that have rebuilt an engine have had the SAME problem!
