so i called a high-end mustang profremance shop here in FL and they said that it ould be a broken shift fork.

now i have never opened a tranny in my life so, how hard is it go get to this fork?

In the picture you are showing , the transmission is not in 1st gear . Sounds like it might have been put together incorrectly . Where did you get the transmission from ?

not hard... but not easy...[8D]

its gonna be alittle work... make sure ur comfortable w. it before you go opening it up

tailshaft has to come off, then the cover, and the forks are all on the cover

i bought it from a guy that said he had it rebuilt but i guess not.

so i have givven up on it and its out of the God D***car and i put the old one back in. i guess i can keep skipping 2nd for a while......POFS...

so how does the top cover come off? i have the tranny split in 2 but i cant pull it any further cause the top cover is in the way but i ant pull the top cover up beause its attached to the tail end via 'shifter shaft'
