Default How are is it really?

I got a 1994 mustang gt and I was looking at putting some headers on it soon...I dont know yet if I have the bbk shorty x pipe or just a regular bbk x pipe but I will know once I get it jackeds so either way....It is hard to get this headers installed...I heard you have to pull the engine or at least let if off the engine mounts and tilt it forward...is this true? Also which in your guys opinion should i get...I know LTs make more power but I am looking for a street application and I dont really want to spend $400 bucks on a pair of LTs if the equal length shorties will work also.

let me know what you guys think...

Thanks guys this site always helps me out a ton on my mustang projects!

if ur engine is stock, LT's are not worth it.

otherwise shorty headers will bolt on pretty smoothly, given you have some mechanical knowledge.

equal lengths require unbolting an engine mount and tilting a couple inches.

even if you plan to mod down the road, wait on the LT's and do it all at once.

so.... to get equal length shorties to fit I have to unbolt the engine....and if I plan on modding the engine just wait and do LTs later on down the road?

hes saying LT's arent going to benefit you as much as it would with a more modified engine. overall point being shorties are relatively an ease to put in

mac exhaust ran private tests saying unless you are puttin DOWN 300+ shorties are the best for optimum performance. LT's would be fine if you purchased the holly systemax from summit though : D

I have a basically stock mustang I have like eibach lowering springs, kyb adjustables, bbk off road x pipe for stock shorties, magnaflow performance exhaust, bbk 75 mm throttle body, bbk fender CAI.....I really dont think I could be making anywhere close to 300 hp with these simple boltons...What do you think I should go with LTs or Equal Length Shorties I dont want unequal shorties I have only heard bad things with the exception of the post above.

LT's will benefit on a H/C/I car, but you can always ust buy shorties now, and sell them later
