Default AOD dead??

I had a poor running/driving 1987 carbed 302/Automatic. I now have the engine running strong after a new edelbrock carb (they had an old 2 barrel mounted on a 4 barrel intake via a adapter plate). Now I notice big problems with the auto transmission. When you put it in any gear (exp. reverse or drive) It takes 3 seconds for the transmission to realize it's been shifted. Drives O.K. butdoesn't have smoothtransitions up shifting or downshifting. Is the AOD dead?

Default RE: AOD dead??

Check the fluid first. Then check the T.V cable.
