Driveshaft rub: problem caused by eibach sportline springs
I've tried grinding the e-brake bracket down to a lower profile BUT safe. It doesnt grind all the time, just when i hammer thegas and the back endsquats a little bit. I bought some spring isolators for the back to try to keep the suspension back there a little bit tighter so it wouldnt bounce. I have not installed them yet but wasnt sure if they would helpthat much. I was thinking about just using the stock rear springsbut keeping the eibach fronts. Any harm in this, i know that the look is gonna be a little different, idk if thats a bad thing. Anyone ever done this. will this hurt the handling, this car is primarily for drag racing
Btw, for ppl looking at eibachs, buy the drag kit dont get the sportlines, they look cool but they suck lol

i had the same prob. there is really no fix just to put diff springs in the rear. im lookin at buying coilovers for the front and just leaving the stock in the rear to level the car out.

from adder:
your grinding problem IS NOT being caused by your lowering spring. infact, i run the same springs andhave no clearance issues whatsoever. you may want to concider a new set of upper and lower control arms. your rub maybe caused by lateral movement of the rear axle, thus causing a clearnace issure. also... you might wanna try making sure everythign is in fact where its supposed to be, and not out of place

i thought that the springs were the problem because it just made sense that when i put the springs in the rear end would drop like 1.5 inches, i think thats what the kit was. ok, so upgrade the upper and lower control arms. Will subframe connectors help? Also, i kinda need to know how thick a ford racing aluminum driveshaft is b/c the thing cut into it just a little bit, not enough to cut it but idk if i'm gonna snap the sucker if i give it hell

3.5 inches for the driveshaft. the only problem i ever had with rubbing on the driveshaft when my notch had sportlines was when i had a couple people in the backseat and i hit a bump with them in it

i mean how thick is the wall. The d/s is hollow and i need to know how thick the thing is from inside out. I have one that is on there right now

I have a 94 i lowered mine its doing the same thing
I jacked up the car took a piece of pipe put it on that bracket and let the car down on it slowly
it bent the bracket up enuff so the driveshaft doesnt hit it anymore
its the springs new arms arent going to help you, all my stuff is brand new good luck!
