Default tko in a 331 stroker

i blew out my 3rd gear in my stock t-5, as in my gear is stripped. i searched a little bit and found that there is a kit from astro performance that will convert your t-5 to a 26 spline input and carry about 500 ft lbs. i have heard about tko's having a bad rep with hard shifting, i like the ease of shifting my t-5. if anyone could help me out with this decision i would really appreciate it. thanks

alright, awesome. i added it all up earlier and found that the swap would be about a grand more. also has anyone else installed their own tranny before? iinstalled a trannywith my friend after his t-5 on his 86 just died, i dont ask q's, and we just unbolted the tranny from the bellhousing, but it doesnt look like it will be so "easy" with the tko.

TKO install will require

new bellhousing ............. get McLeod if going SFI
new yoke
new clutch
new swap x-memeber or can cut welds and move stock x-member and reweld.

Its not hard and fits nicely.
