cylinder head for my mustang...

RE: cylinder head for my mustang...
actually the E5AE / E7TE and the E5AE / D8OE flow the same, the ports are identical. its the chamber size that is different. the earlier heads have larger chambers and therefor give you lower compression.
if your going to grab a single head you can use anything from any 302 from 1978 to 1984, and any passenger car from 1985. I always thought the 85 mustangs had the TE (truck heads) but i guess not from your findings.
if your going to grab a pair of heads, i would certainly grab some E7's if your in a tight spot for funds as they are a dime a dozen - or if you have a little extra cash grab a set of GT40's or GT40P's from a mid / late 90's explorer.
beware of 1986 302's, they were using the E6SE heads (high swirl) and they are chokers for performance.

yea, like everyone here said... its ashame ur too far... im in md... i have 2 sets of e7's, and a set of e6's all just taking up space... or wait... 3 sets of e7's and one set of e6's... all but one set of e7s are hitting the scrap yard shortly...
you should be able to find e7 heads around your area for 100 bucks a set at ajunkyard, or find a local car forum and see if anyon e has them, ive seen many cases of ppl giving them away

you guys are dead on, E7's are worth about 50 bucks a head if they are in bolt on condition from a junk yard. you can check to make sure valves are sealing by pouring gas in the ports and see if it leaks into the chamber. i would expect to see a small amount on something with miles on it - like seeping but just barely.
if you can, i'd coin up for the P's XP is willing to sell
